Positive Behavioural Support in Hereford

your BEHAVIOUR ANALYST

Sally Nickless is a Board Certified Behaviour Analyst as well as a registered and accredited member of UK Society of Behaviour Analysts. Sally uses evidence-based behavioural science techniques to teach functional skills, communication skills, social skills and self-regulation skills including mindfulness, breathing and meditation skills, to enable neuro-divergent children, to live fuller, bigger, more meaningful lives.

Sally upholds personal values that are aligned with the values of the person-centred, values led approach that positive behavioural support promotes. Valuing everyone as a unique individual with a multitude of strengths and assets.  By finding out what the person values and enjoys, this enables Sally to personalise all support so it is meaningful, fun and life -enhancing to the person. This makes her a fun, empathetic and supportive teacher.

Sally's Background

How did Sally get to where she is today? In 2008, she embarked on a career change. The vision: To do something meaningful and rewarding. There began a nine-month voluntary placement, where Sally worked as an outdoor adventure leader with a charity. During this time, Sally supported vulnerable and disadvantaged children to undertake outdoor activities, including kayaking, rock climbing, orienteering, and learning bush craft skills. This experience ignited a new purpose for Sally; to help children live better lives. After the placement finished, Sally worked as a support worker, supporting an 18-year-old man with a learning disability, autism and ‘behaviours of concern'. This experience gave Sally a more definitive purpose; to help children with autism and later on ADHD, to lead more meaningful and rewarding lives. She now fulfils that calling, as a Behaviour Analyst based in Hereford.

The BEHAVIOURAL Approach

Behavioural science is an evidence-based model with excellent results, which is a great fit for supporting neuro-divergent children. The approach echoes the same values and belief systems which are inherently instilled in Sally's approach to her work. Sally always values the uniqueness of everyone she works with, designing packages of support that are specifically tailored to individual needs and requirements.
